How to Make Money in 2010

Money has become quite an issue with our roller coaster economy. Below are some simple ways to get more money NOW.

The most of obvious way to make more money is to ask for a raise at work or get a new job with a higher income.

Respect Your Money
Try to use cash instead of credit cards so you are more conscious that you're spending money. Somehow holding actual cash in your hand while making a purchase makes one aware of what they're spending. Also, always remember a penny saved is a penny earned. Sometimes one must live without in order to get ahead.

Visualize
We have the power to make our thoughts a reality. It begins with dreaming and imagining. Create a dream board of future vacations, homes, cars, shoes, etc.

Turn Work into Fun
Who said work can't be fun? Turn your hobby into a moneymaker.

Residual Income
Invest in real estate, write a book, write a song, etc.

These are just some basic ways to rethink money and wealth. If you slowly apply this way of thinking to your daily life you will get more $$$. Don't forget the wealthy guy isn't necessarily the man in the bmw convertible; it's usually the guy driving the 1980s toyota. Learn to live beneath your means.

phases of development

"A work of art goes through many phases of development, but in each phase it is always a work of art. (Therein lies the importance of sketches.) A work of art is finished, from the point of view of the artist, when feeling and perception have resulted in a spiritual synthesis." - Hans Hofmann

Over the weekend, I had a blast doing prep work for the fashion show. I was working on fashion illustrations of the six dresses. Tres Magnifique! While drawing, it seriously felt like a brain massage to draw again! I love that feeling...the whole world just drifts away and it's just you and your drawing. When I was in college my favorite days were in drawing class when we'd draw a still life with the lights off with lighting projected onto the objects. I could sit there for hours diligently working -focusing in on the micro details then pulling back at the macro view, then back at the micro again. Somehow working with your hands while making art helps you to quickly get back to this place in your mind. Overall I'm really having a blast working on all aspects for the fashion show. The devils in the detail!

Runway 3.0 Fashion Show

Rice rafferty is proud to announce we're participating in the Runway 3.0 Fashion Show event May 1, 2010 in Buffalo, NY for Buffalo State College. We're so excited! Carol Ann Rice Rafferty is designing a line of clothing for the event. Both of us are collaborating on the accessories as well as the styling for the models. The theme of the fashion show is technology, so there will be lots of interesting designs (probably many are Lady Gaga inspired, of course!).

We hope to see you there!
